I Love the ’90s – The Party (2008–2012)
Five years after their first collaboration, Pieter-Jan and the team of Grenslandhallen/Ethias Arena founded the nostalgic party concept “I Love the ’90s – The Party.” It would prove an instant success. 21.500 visitors attended the first edition. For the second edition one year later, 44.000 people showed up for the long-awaited reunion of Ray and Anita, the original singers of ’90s band 2 Unlimited.
Pieter-Jan served as the concept’s creative director and was in charge of all branding and communication strategies. The concept was sold in 2012 but is still going strong.
I Love the ’80s – The Party (2009)
Following the success of “I Love the ’90s – The Party,” the same team created the ’80s equivalent, “I Love the ’80s – The Party,” with performing artists Kim Wilde, Rick Astley, and Salt-N-Pepa. With 10.000 visitors, the first edition was a modest success, but the team decided not to go ahead with it.
R&B Shadows (2003)
After his career in music production, Pieter-Jan teamed up with the event organizers of Grenslandhallen/Ethias Arena, the concert hall in his hometown of Hasselt. Together, they created the largest R&B party in the country, R&B Shadows, which would take place twice during that year.
Pieter-Jan was in charge of the concept and the communication strategies. But the real success would come in 2008, when the same team founded “I Love the ’90s – The Party.”
